1) My parents have arrived. They have immigrated to the USA. They are now a part of my life again, after 16 years apart, after packing my trunk for California at age 13. They have quirks I need to learn about. They stopped eating fish altogether, and taken up poultry again. Details, love is all in the details.
2) I accepted the job offer with Weidlinger, and will help Engineer DT on the New East Span of the Bay Bridge project. Ah, I never thought it would happen- all of this- when I sat for three months wondering what to do with my life back in 2000. Dreams do come true. You don't even need intelligence or charm- just tenacity and ability to accept humiliating defeats on the road to actualization. I didn't even know that I had had this dream- it was more like a whimsical, "what if I finished studying engineering soon enough that the bridge was still under construction?" Thank goodness for govt bureaucracy!
